52 imagesThe letters and their borders were formed with Rockweed (Ascophyllum nodosum), also called Knotted Wrack, gathered on the shore of Mount Desert Island, Maine. The yellow pods are conceptacles, the reproductive structures of the alga. I chose fronds without them for the letters, to keep the lines and colors simpler, but I like the way they glow in the border.
